FAQ
How do I care for my Woo Laces?

Woo Laces are made from natural wool, so they deserve a little TLC. You can hand wash them in cold water, avoid hot water or washing machines, as this can cause the laces to fray or the tips (made from biodegradable bioplastic) to break down. If they ever wear down, reach out. We’ll replace them for free*. We stand by our process and appreciate your patience as a small brand. Are they okay in the rain? ep! Wool handles moisture really well. But if your laces are soaked and then pulled hard, they may weaken — just avoid yanking them while wet. Treat them like your favourite knitwear: strong, but best cared for gently.

My laces aren’t exactly the same length — is that normal?

Totally. Each pair is made using semi-automatic machines and finished by hand. There can sometimes be small differences in aglet size or lace length — but it won’t affect how they tie or wear.
If they genuinely don’t work with your shoes, let us know at orders@steaddi.co.nz — we’ll make it right.

What lace size should I get?

Here’s the size guide we recommend:
-
105cm: Low tops, up to US Men's 9/10.5W, high tops up to a 7US/8.5W
-
120cm: Low tops US 9/10.5W+ and all high tops 7US/8.5W +
If you’re after something more specific (e.g., mini laces for baby shoes or really long ones for boots), just flick us a message — we’ve got you.

Can I order an old lace colour or number?
Each Woo-Lace is part of a limited batch, individually dyed and numbered (#000, #001, etc.).
Because of the natural dyeing process, no two lace batches are ever exactly the same — that's the beauty of it. If you have a favorite number or want to know what’s coming next, follow us on Instagram @steaddiwear.
*Free replacements are only applicable while the stock lasts for that specific batch, after the sell out, users can redeem a discount code to purchase a free lace in future.
